- Essam Abdelfattah attended at the 2017 National Postdoctoral Association Annual Meeting that held at the Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco representing UC Davis Postdocs
- Tina Horback gave a talk on the use of animal cognition research to assess swine welfare to the School of Vet Med's Behavior Medicine and Welfare Club's continuing education welfare series
- Andrea Schreier’s student, Matt Thorstensen, gave a talk entitled "Genetic variation and number of breeders in the Bliss to CJ Strike reach of the Snake River" at the White Sturgeon Technical Advisory Committee meeting in Boise, Idaho
- Alison Van Eenennaam and two other members of the USDA AFRI-funded BRD CAP (Curt Van Tassell, USDA ARS; Mark Enns, Colorado State University) participated in the Capitol Hill Agricultural Exhibition and Reception in Washington DC to showcase showcase examples of the value of USDA-supported Research, Education, and Extension
